In this hands-on workshop, participants will learn how to “skirt” a fleece (removing the unwanted sections of the fleece) and then prepare the wool for washing. The workshop will include a demonstration of skirting as well as hands on working with wool. The wool is from a variety of heritage breeds of sheep and has a range of natural colors. There will be ample time for discussion of sheep, wool, local resources and farming life.The workshop is $25 which includes a healthy, farm-fresh lunch and gloves. Space is limited. Appropriate for ages 12 and older.
